In this role, you will provide direct settlement support, referrals, and community navigation to help clients set goals, access essential services, and build long-term stability. You will also collaborate with community partners and internal teams to strengthen newcomer outcomes and promote a sense of belonging across the province.
Key Responsibilities
-
Conduct client intake and needs assessments, developing individualized action plans (in person, by phone, and virtually).
-
Provide settlement support through referrals, service navigation, and coordinated follow-up to ensure clients receive timely assistance.
-
Plan and deliver group workshops and orientations on key topics such as community resources, housing, healthcare access, and employment readiness.
-
Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including case notes, service statistics, and program reporting in accordance with program requirements.
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with service providers and community partners to enable effective “warm handoffs” and coordinated support.
-
Support outreach and engagement activities that enhance newcomer participation, inclusion, and community connection.
Qualifications
-
Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in settlement services, case management, community-based support, or non-profit program delivery.
-
Strong communication skills with proven ability to work professionally with diverse clients while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
-
Excellent organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
-
Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
