VACANCY NOTICE
POST OF SECURITY OFFICER NIGHT WATCHMAN
The Board of the Anguilla Air and Sea Ports Authority (AASPA) wishes to inform the general public of a job vacancy within AASPA.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to fill a vacant post of Security Officer Nightwatchman in the Anguilla Air & Sea Ports Authority.
Duties to include:
- Conduct routine inspection & patrol of the Air & Sea Ports’ buildings and property for any suspicious activities. This is in the prevention of would-be criminal or malicious activity, such as vandalism, arson, theft and any other illegal activity
- To monitor movements of vehicles in the public car park during closing hours
- To report all suspicious activity to the Supervisor
- To open/close the Customs and Immigration section (in particular at the Clayton J Lloyd International Airport) before the tour of duty begins/ends
- To close all windows and doors, while securing building, property and plant on the premises of The Anguilla Air & Sea Ports Authority
- To switch on and off all security lights as requested by supervisor
- To keep register in order with time/date and proper reporting of on or off duty.
- To record all patrols in the register at the end of each patrol
- At the end of each shift, or as deemed appropriate by Supervisor, each security night watchman must write and deliver a report covering all observations, altercations, law enforcement interactions or other developments which may have occurred.
- Responsibility for communicating with agencies such as fire and ambulance services in cases of fire or personal injury.
- Any other relevant duties assigned by the Port Manager/Security Night watchman Supervisor /Senior Officers
- Participate in disaster management activities designed to prepare for, mitigate against and respond to disaster events
- Perform other related duties as required by the job function.
Core Skills
- Sound and thorough knowledge security procedures, standards and recommended practices and their applications
- Effective computer skills, Microsoft Office software required
- Must have the ability to keep sensitive information CONFIDENTIAL

- Strive consistently to provide excellence in customer services in the AASPA.
- Detail oriented and organized
- Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally with Employees, Boat Owners/Agents other Stakeholders etc
- Must be adept at problem solving including being able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently
- Must be organized, accurate, thorough and able to monitor work for quality
- Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and be able to improve performance through management feedback
Qualifications
- The incumbent must have good communicative, computer and interpersonal skills.
- Three (3) CSEC or other related certifications
- Security certifications and/or training is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Security Operations preferably in an Aviation or Sea Port setting.
Experience:
- Knowledge of security regulations and standards applicable to Port environments.
- Experience in security operations, preferably in a high-security environment.
- Familiarity with security regulations and compliance standards
Regulatory Requirements
- Colored copy of passport

- Copies of qualifications and or certifications
- 5-year employment history and/or activity history (2021 – 2026)
- Written documentation from employers covering the years of employment
