VACANCY NOTICE
POST OF TRAINING OFFICER
The Board of the Anguilla Air and Sea Ports Authority (AASPA) wishes to inform the general public of a job vacancy within AASPA.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to fill (1) one vacant post of Training Officer in the Anguilla Air & Sea Ports Authority.
Duties to include:
- Responsible for coordinating the training courses for various airport personnel, including security, operations, and customer service staff.
- In collaboration with managers, research necessary training programs aligned with airport operational needs, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and simulations for airport staff across various departments, covering topics such as safety procedures, customer service, and technical skills.
- Assess and identify training needs through analysis of skill gaps, performance evaluations, and feedback from departments and employees.
- Create training calendar and review training materials, manuals, e-learning modules, and multimedia resources for job roles.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and implement improvements based on findings.
- In collaboration with the HR Department, maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, certifications, and performance evaluations for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with HRM and external training providers, and regulatory bodies to discuss specialized training and keep programs up-to-date with industry standards.
- Provide guidance, support to trainers and training coordinators to ensure consistency and quality in training delivery across the airport.
- Develop and deliver orientation programs for new hires, introducing them to airport policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Provide information on organizational culture, expectations, and key contacts.
- Provide information for ongoing technical skills training for specific roles, such as air traffic control and assist in technical skills training baggage handling, and security screening.
- Ensure that employees acquire and maintain the necessary certifications and qualifications required for the posts.
- Facilitate ongoing professional development programs for existing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge, and conclude skills gap.
- Collaborate with department heads and supervisors to address specific training requirements.
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, management monitoring and feedback from participants.
- Make improvements to training calendar and suggest training based on feedback and evolving regulatory needs and compliance.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages continuous improvement.
- Participate in disaster management activities designed to prepare for, mitigate against and respond to disaster events
- Perform other related duties as required by the job function.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Human Resources Management, Public Sector Administration, Business Management or related field.
- Certifications in Learning/Training and Development is an asset.
Training and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources or training.
- Experience in assessing and identifying training programs in a diverse organizational setting.
- Familiarity or knowledge of aviation safety, security, and operational procedures would be an asset.
